His conducting career has taken him to prestigious opera houses such as the Bern Theatre in Switzerland, Karlsruhe Theatre in Germany, the Budapest Opera in Hungary, Opera Colorado in the U.S., the Bolshoi Theatre in Russia, and the Royal Danish Theater.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text css=””]He has conducted operas including Hansel and Gretel, Die Fledermaus, Il Trovatore, The Magic Flute, Martha, Rigoletto, Cavalleria Rusticana, Pagliacci, Madama Butterfly, and La Boh\u00e8me.<\/p>\n

From 2008 to 2011, he served as Music Director of the Cairo Symphony Orchestra, from 2016 to 2017 as Artistic Director of the Bucharest National Opera, and from 2018 to 2021 as Director of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb.<\/p>\n

He was named the first prize at the 2015 Blue Danube\/ Bela Bartok International Conducting Competition and maintains an active podium career on three continents.After making his professional opera debut as a music director at the Seoul Metropolitan Opera Company in 2009, he was invited as a guest conductor for orchestras and opera companies such as Rochester Philharmonic, Tokyo Prime Symphony, Busan Philharmonic Orchestra, KwangjuSymphony Orchestra, Kangnam Symphony Orchestra, Korea Coop Orchestra, Prime Philharmonic Orchestra, Pu-cheon Philharmonic Orchestra, Dae-gu Opera Company, Seoul Opera Company, Korean National Opera Company, etc.<\/p>\n

In the summer of 2015, Mr. Cho made his European debut with the “Giuseppe Verdi” Salerno Opera Theatre in Italy, conducting ‘Il Barbiere di Siviglia\u2019. He consistently conducts opera productions such as ‘Tosca’, ‘Rigoletto’, ‘Gianni Schicchi’, and ‘The Marriage of Figaro’ in various European theaters.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text css=””]Mr. Cho attended Seoul National University for his Bachelor\u2019s degree in orchestral conducting and composition, and the University of Cincinnati college-conservatory of music(CCM), where he earned his Masters of Music and Artist Diploma in conducting and opera coaching. He also had worked as a faculty member at CCM and has worked with Cincinnati Opera Company from 2013 to 2016.<\/p>\n

He is serving as a conductor and adjunct professor at Seoul National University from 2018. He graduated with direction at Chung-Ang University in Seoul and studied at Accademia d’Arte Drammatica in Rome. He also gained valuable work experience at the La Scala Theater in Milan.<\/p>\n

Prior to his current role, he was the Director of the National Changgeuk Company of Korea and Gwangju Metropolitan Opera, and has taught at various universities in Korea. With over 30 years of experience, Chung has directed 145 productions, including La Boheme, Otello, Aida, Madama Butterfly, and Turandot.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text css=””]In 2005, he became the first Asian director to be invited to the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago to direct Madama Butterfly.<\/p>\n

She graduated from the Milan Conservatory and the same year attended the Formation and Improvers course at the Arturo Toscanini Academy of Singing in Parma. She graduated a superior vocal course from the Novara conservatory and attended the Formation and Improvers course at the academy of Orazio Vecchi in Modena.<\/p>\n

Among her recent engagements are role as Abigaille in Nabucco at State theatre in Prague, Odabella in Attila in Seoul Arts Center, role debut as Maddalena in Andrea Ch\u00e9nier at Daegu Opera House, Turandot in Turandot at Teatro Sociale di Ferrara in Italy and SeJong ArtCenter in Seoul. Turandot and Madama Butterfly in Antalya Festival and Efes Festival and Sofia Opera and Ballet in Bulgaria.<\/p>\n

She studied singing at the Estonian Academy of Music, the Opera Studio Amsterdam and the academy of Carlo Bergonzi in Italy. She was a finalist of the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Belgium receiving the \u201cPrix des Donateurs du Concours Reine Elisabeth\u201d and received several national opera awards in her native country, most recently the Estonian State Prize for Music 2023.<\/p>\n

She started her career in the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and made her opera debut as Despina in Mozart\u2019s Cos\u00ec fan tutte. He has performed in over 30 operas across Hungary, Poland, China, and beyond, with roles in La forza del destino, La Boh\u00e8me, Lucia di Lammermoor, Rigoletto, Tosca, and Madama Butterfly.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text css=””]As a bass soloist, he has appeared in major works such as Beethoven\u2019s Symphony No. 9, Faur\u00e9\u2019s Requiem, and Mozart\u2019s Coronation Mass.<\/p>\n

He has also collaborated with the Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra and performed in hundreds of concerts.
